Jaecoo Reveals Rugged J6 EV SUV And Luxurious J7 PHEV In Singapore

When the media was treated to canapés featuring exotic flavours such as African Spiced Barbecue Crocodile, Kangaroo Tartare and Foie Gras Macaron at Jaecoo’s booth, we reckon that the premium automotive brand under Chery International prefers to tread paths less explored.

For sure, both cars launched at Singapore Motorshow 2025 don’t exactly conform to your typical EV crossover SUV. The J6 EV looks a concept from the future, while the luxo-barge J7 opts for a plug-in hybrid powertrain, endowing it with an instant range advantage.

J6 features no less than 9 driving modes!

The Jaecoo J6 is built for adaptability, offering 9 driving modes to handle diverse terrains, from everyday efficiency in Eco Mode to enhanced power in Sport Mode and specialised settings for mud, sand and bumps. With integrated voice control, switching modes is effortless, ensuring an intuitive driving experience for all conditions.

0 - 100km/h in 6.5 seconds

Its dual-motor system helps to deliver a 0 to 100 km/h timing of 6.5 seconds. It weighs 1,874kg, a bulk of it allocated to the 69.77 kWh LFP Blade Battery. If you go easy on the pedal, 470km is attainable (WLTP) if your driving route involves only city driving.

205kW, 385Nm

Combined power from both driven axles is rated at 205kW and 385Nm, with the rear axle in charge of 135kW and 220Nm. It should deliver a neutral to rear-biased handling based on what the specs offer, helped on by a rear multi-link suspension. 225 section 19-inch rims come as standard.

J7 delivers up to 1,200km of range

It utilises a 5th-generation 1.5 TDGI Hybrid Engine, paired with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and an electric motor. This combination delivers 255kW (341 bhp) and substantial 525Nm, along with this headliner - up to 1200km of range. A fully charged 18.3kWh battery gives this PHEV 90km of full EV range.

It’s tuned for the luxury market

Exterior colour options include Khaki White, Carbon Crystal Black and Moonlight Silver. Inside, it features electrically adjustable ventilated seats, a 14.8-inch touchscreen, Sony 8-speaker surround sound, a panoramic roof and 50W wireless charging. It also includes a head-up display, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a voice assistant.
