INFINITI created INFINITI LAB to take mobility and connectivity to next level

INFINITI, the luxury arm of Nissan, is really not just about making premium cars. Driven by people who dare to do things that are not within their comfort zones, INFINITI is constantly on the search for ways to go beyond the standard equation of making cars for drivers. With the 'INFINITI LAB, SMart Mobility' program, the automobile manufacturer has taken the industry to another level. To capitalise on smarter cars that can push human potential. The ‘INFINITI LAB, Smart Mobility’ is a unique program that is created to give business owners and entrepreneurs the opportunity to achieve validation of their businesses in a span of eight weeks. Applications are open from today until 12th February 2017 and the program will culminate sometime in June 2017.  Described by the motoring circle as an aggressive and intensive course, the main objective of the 'INFINITI LAB, Smart Mobility' program is to provide highly-potential business startups with the correct training, advice and mentoring in the areas of mobility and connectivity. By the end of the course, these participants should be able to pitch a viable business case to the senior management of INFINITI and other key innovation stakeholders from across the Renault-Nissan Alliance. ‘INFINITI LAB, Smart Mobility’ is part of INFINITI’s ongoing commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship. Designed with course contents that cater specifically to early-stage companies in the fields of smart mobility and connected technology, up to eight startups will be selected by an experienced panel before being invited to Singapore from April to June 2017 to undergo the program. Throughout the course, each business owner or entrepreneur will receive dedicated mentorship and guidance from industry experts at INFINITI and Nest. By the end of eight weeks, the participants should have the know-how to pitch for a proof of concept (POC) project with INFINITI. There will also be an investor Demo Day to give the startups the opportunity to pitch to investors with the aim of securing further funding and new business opportunities.  The program will be conducted in Singapore, which hails as one of the world’s most progressive landscape in terms of connectedness and mobility. The program is open to both local and international applicants. Once again, INFINITI has chosen to team up with innovation partner Nest.   Roland Krueger, President of INFINITI Motor Company, said: “This program is a key part of INFINITI’s initiative to promote entrepreneurial spirit in the business community. Automobiles play an important role in future intelligent cities. Technologies of connectivity will enable vehicles to communicate with each other and with city infrastructures. This will significantly enhance the driving experience and INFINITI is committed to leading the development in this area”.     Lawrence Morgan, CEO of Nest, added: “This program could be transformational for early-stage companies who need commercial validation of their product. Startups need the opportunity to test their products and theories and this program is highly focused on giving founders a clear path to POC so they can quickly gain traction and scale.”   INFINITI also plans to expand entrepreneurial initiatives to other cities during 2017. Applications open 12th January and the deadline for submissions is 12th February, 2017.
