Hyundai Takes The Lead To Increase EV Adoption, Offers Mobile Charging And Dedicated App
Hyundai EV customers may now have the most comprehensive suite of solutions for their ownership journey.
If people felt like they needed a nudge to switch to an EV, Hyundai may have just done what’s necessary.
It has considered the key concerns of would-be customers, chiefly charging and battery management. Arising from this, they’ve focused on the key topics of Home Charging, Destination Charging and - more unusually - Mobile Charging. They’ve also thought about making the payment process as seamless as possible, and how to monitor all of the EV-related data from a dedicated app.
A world’s first app by Hyundai designed for Singaporeans
As a sign that Hyundai is really committed to investing in its Singapore venture, it has independently developed apps called the IONIQ Care+ and BlueLink, available only for Hyundai EV customers in Singapore (for now), that will allow drivers to analyse EV usage patterns, offer guidance on sustaining battery health, or to cool down the car on a hot day even before entering the car.
Let it sink in for a moment. There is a similar Hyundai app available in Korea, but without the specific functionalities that Hyundai thought Singaporean customers desired - like the aforementioned battery management - so Hyundai went ahead and built a whole new app just to make them happy. That’s attending to customer needs on a whole new level!
Mobile Charging
In what must be the strongest endorsement of mobile charging to date, Hyundai together with mobile charging provider P.UP will provide power on demand to Hyundai EV drivers. Reservations can be made just two hours in advance, covering Singapore and Sentosa. This partnership provides 12 months’ charging, with up to six charges a month. A complimentary tire shine and car wash will even be provided during the charging session.
Home Charging
Hyundai and Schneider Electric, the leading AC charger provider in Singapore, will provide integrated hardware & installation at homes of Hyundai drivers. Called EVLink Home, the 7.4kW charger will come with free standard installation and charging device, with a 36-month warranty for the EV charger (exclusively for Hyundai drivers) and a 12-month warranty for installation work.
Destination Charging
Hyundai customers will get 18 months of free charging (with monthly credits at 220kWh) at Charge+’s charging network in Singapore and the region. Charge+ has implemented about 1,000 EV charging points in Singapore, of which the majority are in HDB, condominiums and shopping malls.
Making payments easy with OCBC
Any any charging done, Hyundai will grant up to $2,000 in rebates when customers use an OCBC credit card to pay for their charging usage at a variety of providers – such as SP Group, CDG ENGIE, Charge+, Shell Recharge, Voltality, Volt, chargEV and Bluecharge by Total Energies. Hyundai is the first automotive manufacturer to introduce an island-wide changing rebate across varying charging providers.
