Engine Start Stop System

The Honda Vezel comes equipped with an engine start-stop system, intended to reduce fuel consumption during idle.

The system utilises a buck booster, which is the control unit for the start-stop function. In some cases, the booster, which is located under the left-hand side of the dash may experience heat build-up. In more extreme situations, it could burst into flames.

Only the petrol model is affected by the recall. Hybrid models, on the other hand, run on a different start-stop system, managed by the hybrid-electric system, and are not affected.

Those with cars affected, should consult their respective dealers.

Cars affected are listed here, on Honda’s website: http://www.honda.co.jp/recall/auto/info/160404_3797.html
