High-Performance BMW Vision Neue Klasse Test Vehicle Unveiled At Auto Shanghai 2025
First all-electric Neue Klasse vehicles will roll off the production line at the Debrecen plant in Hungary from end 2025.

At Auto Shanghai 2025, BMW showcased the BMW Vision Driving Experience, a high-performance concept car built on the Vision Neue Klasse platform.

It features cutting-edge driving dynamics, powered by the "Heart of Joy" control computer and BMW’s Dynamic Performance Control software, which together manage all dynamic driving functions.

Uniquely for the show car, this system is visibly positioned in the centre console.

Production of the first all-electric Neue Klasse vehicles will begin at BMW’s Debrecen plant in Hungary by the end of the year. Each vehicle will come equipped with the Heart of Joy central computer as standard.

"fastest test rig in the world”
BMW Vision Driving Experience is built to push the limits of driving dynamics. Producing up to 18,000Nm of torque and generating 1.2 tonnes of downforce with active aerodynamics, it reaches lateral forces of up to 3g - on par with Formula 1. As the ultimate stress test for BMW’s Heart of Joy computer and Dynamic Performance Control system, it proves that if the technology can master these extreme conditions, it will excel in everyday driving.

Making full use of brake regeneration
In the Neue Klasse, the Heart of Joy central computer manages driving, braking, recuperation, and some steering functions. It processes information quickly, directly controls the electric motors, and improves agility and driving stability with fewer interventions. The system allows 98% of braking to be regenerative, increasing efficiency by 25% compared to current architectures, and ensures smoother stops.
