The 17th edition of the Volkswagen Cup is expected to feature over 400 players aged eight to 16 from eight schools, forming more than 30 teams. Volkswagen has a deep connection to football, with a rich history in the sport at both professional and grassroots levels.

VW has been involved with the German Football Association (DFB) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). VfL Wolfsburg is a club fully owned by Volkswagen Group.

Volkswagen's commitment to sports goes beyond professional levels, extending to amateur and popular sports. The GESS Volkswagen Cup is a testament to this dedication, as it embraces the passion, unity and diversity of football.

The GESS Volkswagen Cup, with Volkswagen's support, provides participants with event football jerseys, medals, trophies, and access to professional referee services, scoring, and first aid assistance.

Sport and partner collaborations are a significant aspect of campus activities and student life at GESS, alongside language, science, art, and music. The school believes in the importance of sports in children's developmental years and offers a variety of sports and CCAs for students to explore and cultivate their passions. For students interested in competitive sports, GESS creates opportunities both in and out of Singapore to showcase their talents.
