GER: Porsche to develop driving-oriented 911

Porsche is apparently working on an all new GT model to accompany the GT3, GT3 RS and the GT2 RS. Rumour has it that the new car will be a completely different animal than the GT3 series that was initially introduced in 1999. Unlike its other GTx counterparts, the new car will be focused on simple driving pleasure, as compared to the raw laptime of the other cars. The GT will be optimised for feel, response and driver interaction, and that essentially means an H pattern shifter, lesser aerodynamic components, tyres which are less grippy and a chassis that has been designed to give a neutral feel. Power will more than likely come from a normally aspirated 3.8-litre unit used by the existing GT3. As of now, there are no news of a release date or even of the final name of the car.
