GER: Porsche may turbocharge next 911s

Could Porsche be adding more turbocharged 911s to its lineup? Currently, the German marque produces two turbocharged 911s, namely the Turbo and the Turbo S, with the majority of the variants being driven by either a 3.4- or 3.8-litre flat-sixes. The distinct model line is set to be shaken up though, as there are hoards of rumours believe Porsche will ditch natural aspiration for forced induction for future 911s. The rumours state that the base model Carrera's 3.4-litre will be downsized to 2.9 litres, with a turbo bolted on, that should be good for up to 400 horsepower. The rumour also states that the Carrera S will receive a turbo as well, but retain its 3.8-litre flat 6. The forced induction means the S will now make 530 horsepower. This means that future 911s may produce huge power figures of up to at least 600bhp, with the higher spec cars producing even more. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
