GBR: Noble to make 600 Speedster
Noble has played with the concept of lobbing the roof off its M600 for quite a while now. It seemed as though the idea will remain just that – an idea that will not come to fruition. However, the British firm actually did just that, and revealed a topless M600 to the public at the Autosport International show a couple of weeks ago. The Noble has recently been taken into a photography studio, and several press photos were shot, which pretty much confirms the car will be put into production pretty soon. According to Noble, the 600 Speedster, will utilise all the mechanical bits from the M600 coupe. That, however, is not a bad thing, for it means a 4.4-liter V8 with a pair of variable-boost Garrett turbochargers, will live in the rear half of the car. The car is still all carbon-fiber bodywork, and will have a removable roof panel. There has been one alteration though – the 600 Speedster has been fitted with a sequential paddle-shift gearbox as compared to the regular six speed box in the coupe. Production is scheduled to begin by the middle of 2015, although small firms may often push back launch dates. Noble promises the same ludicrous performance as its coupe sibling, which should make this a relatively good alternative if you aren’t too keen on the usual marques of supercars.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
