The electric motor, integrated into the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, produces 197hp and with a pre-gearing stage, boosts its effective torque to 450Nm. It’s devastatingly powerful on the boil - 727hp and 1,000Nm are figures not to be taken lightly, even in this all-electric age.

Yes, in all-electric mode, the M5 can reach speeds of up to 140km/h. Its 18.6kWh high-voltage battery offers a range of 67-69km (WLTP). The car supports AC charging at up to 7.4kW.
Is the new BMW M5 rear wheel drive?

With wide tracks and high torsional rigidity, this design ensures BMW M's signature agile and precise handling.
How customisable are the BMW M5’s driving modes?
The centre console of the new BMW M5 features a model-specific array of buttons for tailoring the driving experience. The Setup button allows direct adjustment of the drive system, Drivelogic, chassis, steering, braking system, M xDrive and brake energy recuperation settings.
