Fuji Heavy Industries to be renamed

On its 100th birthday, and to reflect their dedication to the firm’s automotive arm, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. will be changing their name to Subaru Corporation on the 1st of April in 2017. According to Subaru themselves, the move is to further market and develop the Subaru brand, and to make it a unique international brand in the automotive and aerospace fields. Part of this new development, is the company’s goal of reaching sales targets of 1 million in 2017. However, there is one thing stands between the rebrand and the boffins in the office – the shareholders. They will decide on the change on the 28th of June during the company's shareholder meeting.
