First-ever BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition Now In Singapore

BMW X5 and X6 Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) lineup now complete with M-badge Competition models. BMW Asia and Performance Munich Autos announced the launch of the first-ever BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition. The high-performance BMWs are powered by the German automobile manufacturer’s proven 4.4 litre V8, with “hot inside V” arranged twin turbochargers, delivering 625hp. Peak torque of an earth-turning 750Nm is made available from between 1,800 and 5,800 rpm. Stiff engine mountings ensures instantaneous engine response, with reduced shifting of weight for a sharper turn-in. BMW also promises a sonorous soundtrack from its M Sport exhaust system.

Drive to the four wheels is delivered via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, equipped with Drivelogic. The Drivelogic button sited on the gear selector allows drivers to adjust the car’s gearshift characteristics. The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system delivers the drive with a rear-wheel bias for a more traditional sports car-like driving experience; the front axle only comes into play when the rear wheels aren’t able to transmit any more power to the road, and additional tractive force is required. The Competition models feature exclusive M light-alloy wheels in staggered 21-inch format at the front axle and 22-inch at the rear.

Both cars clock 100km/h in only 3.8 seconds, and continue on to 200km/h in just 13.4 seconds for the X5 M Competition, and 13.2 seconds for the X6 M Competition. Top speed is limited to a German gentleman’s agreed 250km/h.

In addition to ROAD and SPORT drive modes, both cars also feature a TRACK setting designed exclusively for use on race circuits.

Both BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition are decked out in fine-grain Merino full leather trim with M-specific hexagonal quilting. A BMW Individual headliner in Alcantara anthracite is also available as standard. The luxurious interior ambience is further continued with features such as the soft-close function, as well as a Harmon Kardon sound system fitted as standard on the Competition models.
