It was Florian Merckx from Belgium at the pole position again with Renaldi Hutasiot from Indonesia who threw down an early charge for the lead. However, Merckx had a clean track in front of him that opened a commanding lead throughout the race. Behind him, Hutasoit and Alexander West from Sweded were locked in a battle of points that failed to catch up to the leader. West spun out of control on lap 8 giving the third to Ringo Chong from Singapore and secured the spot. It was a clear first for Merckx and second for Hutasoit.
