F1: Marussia’s test interrupted by computer virus

Marussia’s computers have been infected with a virus that disrupted the team’s running at Sakhir. During the 4 days of the first Bahrain test, the team only ran 29 laps, for they sat out most of Wednesday busting out all the stops to rid their systems of the Trojan horse virus. More running was lost when engine issues occurred, and things were made worse the next day when a warning light appeared. The mechanics spent nearly 2 hours doing a systems check, only to realise that was a false signal. After getting a couple of laps in, the MR03 suffered from a fuel system issue, which further limited their running. Marussia’s sporting director John Booth admitted that he was worried about the Australian Grand Prix, since the car only ran 29 laps, and was relatively unproven. However, there were things to cheer about though- Marussia’s brakes have been very well developed and working brilliantly. Or at least, that’s what they tell us.
