F1: Giedo van der Garde reaches mutual agreement with Sauber
Just a week ago, court rulings have favoured Giedo van der Garde. But just 7 days later, he has agreed to cancel his contract with Sauber for the good of the team. Sauber later released a statement, saying that they are now fully focused on the next race in Malaysia, and that they were glad the issue is now resolved. Whilst Giedo insisted he had a valid driver’s contract for 2015, Sauber said otherwise, claiming that they did not understand the reasoning behind Giedo’s accusations. The matter was brought to the Victorian Supreme Court last week, but the team failed to let Giedo drive in the race, which risked their assets being seized and the team manager being arrested.
