F1 : Daniil Kvyat to replace Red Bull-bound Daniel Riccardo at Toro Rosso
Daniil Kvyat is set to replace Red Bull-bound Daniel Riccardo at Toro Rosso for the 2014 F1 season. The announcement has caught many by surprise, as most were tipping Portuguese Antonio Felix da Costa to get the seat instead. Currently, the 19 year old Russian is second in the GP3 standings. Daniil would be the third Russian in F1, after Vitaly Petrov and Sergey Sirotkin, should Sirotkin get his superlicense. Helmut Marko was impressed with Kvyat’s drive in the Silverstone young driver test in July and also during a straightline test with Red Bull. He mentioned that talent, passion and a high level of work ethic were the reasons they gave him the drive.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
