Volkswagen Group Singapore has been on a roll lately - not only has it claimed exclusive distribution rights for the CUPRA brand in Singapore, launch of an eShowroom for Volkswagen and Skoda fleets imply that adaptations are consistently underway to meet customer demands. Our recent drive up to Malaysia in only Cat A-eligible VW and Skodas serve to substantiate this belief.

The addition of a new leader to bolster this establishment seems like a natural step, which is exactly what they had in mind - Denyu Bostandzhiev (pictured, left) has been appointed the position of co-Managing Director as of 1 July 2023.

VGS will continue to be led by two Managing Directors. Dr. Kurt Leitner (pictured, right) will lead the Sales, Marketing, Finance & Admin and Human Resources units while Denyu will oversee the After Sales and Information Technology functions.

Denyu brings with him over 20 years of experience in the automotive and engineering industry across three different continents. Since 2004, Denyu has reprised many roles across three continents, most recently as Managing Director of Porsche Ukraine LLC in which he adeptly implemented a successful Audi and Volkswagen sales strategy and spearheaded the market entry of the disruptive and distinctive CUPRA brand, defying adverse circumstances.

Together with Kurt, Denyu will oversee both the Singapore and Malaysia markets, folding in his expertise in business strategy and operations, product development and branding to raise the profile and strengthen the Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Škoda, SEAT and CUPRA brands in Singapore, as well as Volkswagen Passenger Cars and Audi portfolios in Malaysia.

Denyu is no stranger to the region, having previously been based in Malaysia for almost three years, responsible for the rebrand of Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia and establishing the operations for the locally assembled Volkswagen, Arteon, Tiguan Allspace and Golf GTI in 2016.

Both Kurt and Denyu will split their time between Singapore and Malaysia as co-Managing Directors for Volkswagen Group Singapore, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia and PHS Automotive Malaysia.
