Cycle & Carriage Kia Gears Up For Singapore’s Longest Test Drive Relay
18 participants will cover 900km over a period of 22 hours.
Cycle & Carriage Kia is aiming to set the record for Singapore’s Longest Test Drive Relay featuring their latest hybrid model, the Niro Hybrid on Saturday, 29 October. Participants will begin their journey, starting the drive from Cycle & Carriage Kia Showroom at 2pm, and make their way to Jewel Changi Airport before circling back to the Kia Showroom.
The latest version of the Niro Hybrid will be the focus of the company’s efforts to set a record for Singapore’s Longest Test Drive Relay in the Singapore Book of Records. Covering a total distance of 900km – the equivalent of travelling between Changi Airport and Tuas 17 times – 18 participants will cover this distance in the Niro Hybrid over a period of 22 hours. Passing through several of Singapore’s key scenic areas – including Helix Bridge, each leg of the journey will cover 55km in distance, with the entire relay running on a single tank of fuel.
The participants will also get first hand experience of the Kia Connect Lite app in this relay - a smart connectivity feature which allows customers to remotely control the car through their smartphones. With a climate control feature that allows drivers to control the air-conditioning remotely before entering the vehicle, the app also shows a comprehensive range of real-time diagnostic data – including tyre pressure, fuel percentage, mileage, and battery status – and will play a key role in tracking and synchronising the Niro Hybrid’s journey throughout the relay.
The flag-off of this relay will be by Ms Dawn Pan and will take place at 2PM on 29 October – with the final driver of the relay expected to reach the Kia showroom around 12.15PM on 30 October.
