COEs Mixed in October's First Bidding Exercise, Cat B Even Lower

This afternoon saw 4,413 successful bids out of a total of 6,095 received during the first bidding exercise of October for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs).

Quota of 2,064 @ $51,507, up from $50,000

Category A (cars 1,600cc and below, and have a maximum power of 130bhp),


Quota of 1,350 @ $53,001, down from $55,501

Category B (cars above 1,600cc, and have a more than 130bhp),


Quota of 176 @ $48,720, down from $49,890

The commercial vehicle category C,


Quota of 387 @ $6,353, down from $6,501

Motorcycle category D,


Quota of 436 @ $54,200, down from $55,201

Open Catagory E,

As with the previous bidding exercise, the trend in the low number of COEs offered, are due to the trend of owners choosing to keep their cars longer.

Bids can be submitted through the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of DBS/POSB, the Internet Banking facility of UOB, or via the OCBC phone banking services.

The bid deposit for COEs in Categories A, B, C and E is $10,000 per bid while that for Category D is $200 per bid.
