COE Prices Up For 2020. Category A Buyers Most Seriously Affected

A new year brings with it higher COE premiums. Category A certificates are now $35,320, an increase of $2,322. This difference might see some buyers considering cars which sit in the higher-tier Category B, since the gap between both certificates are much closer than the last bidding exercise. Category A (cars 1,600cc and below, and have a maximum power of 130bhp),
Quota of 1,035 @ $35,320, up from $32,889,

Category B (cars above 1,600cc, or have more than 130bhp),
Quota of 1,022 @ $37,109, up from $36,000,

Commercial Vehicle Category C,
Quota of 321@ $24,402, up from $23,200,

Motorcycle Category D,
Quota of 707 @ $3,989, up from $3,658,

Open Category E (All but motorcycles),
Quota of 384 @ $38,000, up from $37,989,

Bids can be submitted through the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of DBS/POSB and the Internet Banking facilities of UOB or Maybank, ensure that you have bank accounts with these participating banks.

The bid deposit for COEs in Categories A, B, C and E is $10,000 per bid while that for Category D is $200 per bid.
