COE Prices May See a Marginal Dip Due to Higher COE Supply
This might come as good news if you are mulling the idea of a new car. According to TODAY, the quarterly supply of COEs will see an increase of 8.9% more than the previous round.
The automobile quotas (Cat A and Cat B) will increase by 11.6 percent, while motorcycle COEs will be reduced by 6.6 percent, while goods vehicles and busses will see their quota take a drop by 10.8 percent. This is based on LTA’s data, released on 19 January.
However, with the just-ended motorshow, there will be a backlog of orders. Meaning, it may take a few rounds of COE bidding exercises before we actually see the effects of the quota increase.
