Chevron Singapore Pte. Ltd., which markets Caltex, one of Asia’s leading energy brands, today announced the introduction of a new 92-octane petrol - Regular 92 with Techron – and a new pricing structure to deliver more choices and more value to Singapore drivers.

With the addition of Regular 92 with Techron, Caltex customers will now have a more comprehensive range of petrol products to choose from to suit their car’s octane requirements and driving needs. Regular 92 with Techron is the only product among the industry’s offerings of 92-octane petrol that contains Techron, an exclusive and patented ingredient designed to help keep your engine clean. Regular 92 with Techron will be rolled out progressively at all Caltex service stations island-wide between 16 and 24 March 2009.

"The introduction of Regular 92 with Techron is part of Caltex's aim to provide more value for our customer's motoring dollar. Caltex monitors the dynamics of the marketplace and the needs of our customers regularly. We are mindful of the current economic situation, and in light of that, decided to add a lower-priced product to our range for the benefit of cost-conscious motorists," said John Sam, Retail Manager, Chevron Singapore Pte. Ltd.

The move adds to a Techron range which already includes Premium 95 with Techron and the ultra-premium Platinum 98 with Techron. With the introduction of Regular 92 with Techron, Caltex will discontinue Gold with Techron, a Regular 98-octane petrol, but will instead sell Platinum 98 with Techron at Regular 98-octane petrol prices.

This means Platinum 98 with Techron users could save up to 9.5 per cent* on their fuel bill for the same ultra-premium fuel, while existing Gold with Techron customers can upgrade to an ultra-premium fuel at no extra cost, getting them more value for their motoring dollar.

"The new pricing for Platinum 98 with Techron also reflects Caltex’s response to customers’ needs amidst the current economic situation. By pricing Platinum 98 with Techron on par with other brands of Regular 98 petrol, we are offering current and new customers a higher grade of ultra-premium petrol at no extra cost," added Mr Sam.

Caltex Silver with Techron is now known as Premium 95 with Techron. It will be priced at $1.536 per litre before discount, and $1.459 per litre after the 5% discount.

Caltex Platinum with Techron is now known as Premium 98 with Techron. Priced at $1.670 per litre before discount, it currently retails at $1.587 per litre after the 5% discount.
