BYD Showcases Four Of Its Latest Commercial Vehicles At SITCE 2024

BYD is the largest exhibitor at SITCE 2024, taking place from now till 8 November at Suntec Exhibition Hall and Convention Centre. At this key event for the commercial vehicle sector, BYD will showcase four of its latest commercial vehicles, a double-deck bus chassis, and its blade battery technology.

BYD Autonomous Bus

BYD, in collaboration with TIER IV, has created an advanced autonomous bus for public road use, featuring TIER IV’s Pilot.Auto and Web.Auto software platforms. This bus incorporates cutting-edge AI and sensor technology to improve safety, efficiency, and urban transport performance. Based on the BYD J6 model, it is already operational at Komatsu Airport in Japan, representing a major advancement in autonomous public transit solutions.

BYD B12DS Double Deck Bus

BYD has introduced the B12DS double-deck bus, designed specifically for the Singapore market, following the success of the B12 Single Deck Bus that secured a contract for 300 units by 2024. The B12DS features a low-floor design, three doors, dual staircases, automated boarding ramps and camera mirror systems, powered by BYD’s Blade Battery. It aims to boost passenger capacity while maintaining energy efficiency and high safety standards.

BYD T9R Truck

The T9R is BYD’s first heavy-duty vehicle to incorporate Blade Battery technology, offering a range of up to 320km. Its well-suited for construction, urban logistics and waste management. The T9R is designed to deliver reliable power, meeting the needs of the expanding commercial transport sector.

BYD Electric Prime Mover

Designed for the logistics industry, this powerful prime mover has a gross vehicle weight of 55,000kg and is capable of speeds up to 80km/h.

Inchcape+ as official distributor

BYD Singapore named Inchcape+ as the distributor for its T9R truck in November last year. At SITCE 2024, a ceremony marked Inchcape+ placing an order for 100 BYD T9R trucks, the largest single acquisition of BYD electric heavy-duty trucks in Singapore. Key representatives from both companies attended, and deliveries are expected in Q2 2025.
