AXS Launches Cardless Parking App

No more stored value card errors?

AXS has launched AXS Drive, a new motoring app that addresses common parking problems like stored-value card errors, getting stuck at gantries due to insufficient funds and the hassle of finding top-up machines. The app links a driver's credit card to their license plate and In-vehicle Unit (IU) number, enabling automatic deductions when the vehicle exits the car park.

AXS Drive uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) to record entry and exit times, processing payments after the driver leaves. It integrates with existing Electronic Parking Systems (EPS), making it easy for car park providers and operators to implement without additional hardware.

Can we use it now?

At launch, AXS Drive can be used at 12 car parks, including Downtown East, Far East Plaza, The Heeren and Wisma Atria. An additional 55 commercial car parks will progressively adopt AXS Drive. AXS aims to have the app operational at 100 car parks by the end of 2024, targeting an estimated 12% market share in the commercial car park segment.

Eradicating the pain point?

Drivers often experience frustration when car park gantries remain closed due to payment processing issues with the EPS. AXS Drive, an account-based payment system, aims to eliminate these problems caused by IU reading or cashcard errors, ensuring drivers won't get stuck at exit gantries.

Creating an ecosystem

AXS Drive can be integrated with existing parking privilege programs, enabling digital coupons and passes to streamline processes, reduce administrative burdens and minimise paper waste. Additionally, AXS Drive offers value-added features for car park operators, including real-time advertising of available parking spaces to boost occupancy rates and increase revenue potential.

Fuss free

Drivers can download the app, enter their car plate and IU number, and link a credit or debit card for payments. Once registered, users can instantly use the app at participating car parks and link multiple vehicles to a single credit card, simplifying payments for families or offices. The app also allows for in-app renewal of season parking.
