Audi R8 2019 - More Aggressive and Sharper

Under the hood, you get a V10 naturally aspirated mid-engine set up, which is developed and produced at the Audi engine plant in Győr, Hungary. The superior performance engine produces 610 horsepower, which is capable of reaching a top speed of 330km/h and achieving 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

The Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC), optional dynamic steering system and electromechanical power steering system have been enhanced to allow better steering response and shorter braking distance. Audi claims that the modifications made to the car provides even more stability and precision.

The new R8 is equipped with either factory-installed 19-inch wheels, or an optional 20-inch ultralight five-V dynamic wheels, which convey even more precise handling. Audi offers ceramic brake discs as an alternative to the standard steel discs. The stabilizer at the front can be optionally specified in carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) and aluminium, which reduces the weight by around two kilograms.

On the front end, the remodelled Singleframe radiator grille evokes the Audi Ur-Quattro brand icon. The new front splitter and striking low-set air vent grille is now wider, which improves aerodynamics of the car.

There are three exterior packages for customisation, depending on the engine variant. These packages add various highlights to the front splitter, side trims and diffuser. The latest additions to the paint range are metallic colours, Kemora Gray and Ascari Blue. The high-gloss black paint coated on the Audi rings and badges are optional extras.

“It’s now even more powerful and faster.” said Oliver Hoffmann, Technical Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. “Motorsport is part of our DNA. With around 50 percent shared parts with the R8 LMS GT3 and even 60 percent with the R8 LMS GT4, no other automobile is so close to motor racing as the R8.”

The “even better” R8 is expected to arrive in Singapore within the first half of 2019.
