Aston Martin DBX707 Can Sprint From 0 - 100km/h in 3.3 Seconds

We will be in for a treat when the Aston Martin DBX707 SUV arrives on local shores in Q3 this year. Aston Martin claims that the DBX707 is the world’s most powerful luxury SUV, which for Aston Martin fanatics, can come as no surprise as engineers took the V8 DBX’s design, dynamics and character as its starting point, and enhanced its sporting attributes.

The DBX707 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, now featuring ball bearing turbochargers and a new engine calibration. It also comes fitted with a new 9-speed ‘wet clutch’ automatic. This combination presents it with no less than 707PS (697BHP) and 900Nm, an increase of 157PS (155BHP) and 200Nm over the V8-equipped DBX. Launch capability is also improved, which contributes towards the DBX707’s 0 to 100km/h time of 3.3 seconds - a staggering statistic given its sizable footprint.

Along with 22-inch rims, carbon ceramic brakes measuring 420mm front and 390mm rear will come as standard. They’ll work with 6-piston calipers that results in a 40.5kg reduction in unsprung weight. A new version of the electronic limited slip rear differential features a shorter final drive ratio, which aids its sprinting ability through lower gears and enhances in-gear response.

DBX707 features new damper valving and recalibration of dynamic spring volume switching to improve body control and steering response. The electronic power steering system has also been adjusted to improve steering feel, with greater effort build-up off centre. “Race Start” mode, Aston Martin’s version of launch control, is available in GT Sport and Sport+ modes. The driver will now also have fingertip control of key dynamic modes and settings too, including dedicated buttons for suspension mode, ESP and manual gear selection mode.

In terms of aesthetics, the DBX707 sports a new front-end treatment with revisions to the front grille, DRL, air intakes, brake cooling ducts and front splitter. The satin chrome grille features double vanes. Understandably so, the DBX707 also welcomes the addition of soft-close doors to elevate its luxo-barge status. A new lip spoiler has been added to the roof wing to reduce lift and increase high speed stability, with an enlarged twin rear diffuser rising to meet the new large diameter quad exhaust system. The sporting theme continues inside with Sport seats fitted as standard (Comfort seats are available as a no-cost option).
