All-New Toyota Yaris Cross - Crosses Over Into Singapore

Singapore - 15 January 2021 - With the popularity of SUVs ever-increasing, it is inevitable that car makers will find more ways to jump onto the bandwagon. With this, Toyota badges their new compact-sized crossover with the Yaris nameplate, to bring you the Yaris Cross. The new small crossover is the first of the Yaris range to reach our shores, and we can expect the highly anticipated GR model to reach our shores within the first half of the year. Toyota’s new small SUV features bold fenders, and a distinct-cut exterior, lending to what Toyota calls an ‘Energetic Smart’ shape. You will have 15 colours to choose from, including this newly developed Brass Gold, seen in the pictures.

The new Yaris Cross is powered by a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder Dynamic Force Atkinson-cycle engine, coupled by a hybrid drive system, with its lithium-ion (higher capacity and lighter than nickel-metal hydride) battery located below the rear passenger seats, meaning that it would not intrude on luggage space.

Buyers can expect practical boot space, with an adjustable deck to split the room how they would want. Seamless mobile connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is also a standard feature. Driver’s will also get to enjoy a fully digital instrument panel.

Built upon the,Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, Toyota has designed the Yaris Cross to deliver an engaging driving experience. A suite of active safety features, like Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) that uses the lines on the road to help keep the vehicle centered, while its Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Emergency Steering Assist, ensures vehicle stability, and provides steering assistance when the driver executes evasive maneuvers; are part of Toyota Safety Sense.

Other nifty features like its Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), adjusts the speed of the vehicle, in accordance with the traffic situation, ideal for denser traffic situations.
