All-new Lexus LS sedan coming to 2017 North American International Auto Show

Last Friday (9 December) marked another memorable milestone for Lexus, the luxury automotive division of Japanese car-maker Toyota, as it announced that the all-new, fifth-generation Lexus LS sedan will be making its world debut at the 2017 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January. One of the largest auto shows in North America, the NAIAS is held annually, usually in the month of January, at Detroit, Michigan at Cobo Centre. The 2017 edition is slated to run from 9 January 2017 to 22 January 2017. The Lexus LS has a rich legacy. Born from Toyota’s F1 Project in 1983, the very first Lexus LS luxury sedan of its time made its inaugural appearance at the NAIAS in 1989, a fruition of the combined efforts of 60 designers, 1,400 engineers, 2,300 technicians, 200 support workers and over 2.7 million logged kilometres of testing close to 450 prototypes across different continents.  Today, 28 years later, the Lexus LS remains as the flagship premium sedan of the big L. What has changed is that the all-new Lexus LS is offering much more in terms of performance, handling and outlook. Boasting a bold new look with a coupe-like silhouette without compromising roominess, the Lexus LS will be built on an extended version of Lexus’s all-new global architecture for luxury vehicles (GA–L). The premium rear-wheel drive platform, which is also incorporated in the Lexus LC, will offer Lexus drivers a more dynamic experience on the road.
