All new Cerato Koup now comes turbo-charged

Kia's all-new second generation Cerato Koup comes with  a 1.6L turbo-charged GDi engine that boasts an output of 204ps.  Its all-new styling with 'dynamic muscularity' raises its sporty appeal too.  It is now longer, wider and higher with an extended wheelbase of 2700mm, similar to the Forte K3 and Sorento.  The introduction of the new Cerato Koup follows the launch of the all-new third generation Forte K3 in July 2013, which continues to be Kia's most successful model for worldwide sales. At the front, the Cerato Koup's stance is bold and athletic.  The slimmer front grille with a deeper, wider lower air intake, together with the voluminous bumper design and protruding 'lips' below the round fog lamps, give this model a distinctive face.  The Kia badge is moved from the grille to the panel in front of the shortened bonnet.  A dark chrome front grille, carbon-look bumper garnish and LED fog lamps add on to the car's sporty appeal.

The profile of the new Koup is further enhanced by the adoption of frameless doors, flush side glazing and 18-inch alloy rims. Black-gloss door mirrors, door handles(with chrome inserts) and body-color side sill moldings further ups the car's look.

Under the hood, is the 1.6L Gamma Turbo-GDi engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Its twin scroll turbo-charged engine features low-end torque, responsiveness, instantaneous power delivery and improved fuel efficiency. The automatic transmission features two operating modes- fully automatic or 'Sport' engaged by moving the lever towards the driver when in D mode. For city driving, fully automatic mode is ideal, while 'Sport' mode allows for clutch-less sequential manual gear changes for greater driver involvement.

Active safety technologies such as front and rear parking sensors, ESC(electronic stability control), HAC(hill-start assist control), VSM(vehicle stability management) and ESS(emergency stop signaling) are standard on the Koup.
