7 Things We Need To Know About The Pagani Utopia Hypercar

The city of Milan played host to the world premiere of a brand new hypercar, the Pagani Utopia. An evening for clients and dealers from across the globe, as well as the employees who created this new hypercar commenced with an unveil by designer and founder Horacio Pagani, by playing the first few notes of a piano tune he composed as a young man. Here are 7 things we need to know about the 864bhp hypercar:

1) Utopia was a creative and stylistic process that took 6 years, with thousands of drawings, ten 1:5 scale models and two 1:1 scale models

2) Utopia’s body is machined from solid aluminum alloy and inspired by iconic design objects from the 1950s

3) Utopia’s steering wheel is machined from a single block of aluminum

4) Utopia is equipped with a new 6-litre twin turbocharged V12, developed on a bespoke basis exclusively for Pagani by Mercedes-AMG. Numbers are staggering - 864 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 1,100 Nm of torque from as low as 2,800 rpm

5) Gear shifts are managed by an Xtrac 7-speed transversal gearbox. Customers can opt for a manual option too

6) A wind tunnel model of the Utopia consisting of almost 700 individual components, including a fully working suspension, was deployed for the sake of perfecting aerodynamics

7) An active suspended aero at the rear, integrated within the design of the bonnet and combined with the electronically controlled suspension helps Utopia gain maximum stability in every driving condition
