4 Things That Are Lovely About The Refreshed MINI Countryman
The MINI Countryman is the final car in the MINI model lineup to receive a refresh. Recently launched, their largest car, and the only SUV in MINI’s stable, the Countryman now sports the visual upgrades to match the design language of the rest of their range. The Countryman now features two new body finishes to their colour palette; including Sage Green metallic and White Silver metallic. The model refresh adds new LED headlights as a standard feature, while an extensively restyled front bumper with frosted silver vent surrounds, gives the Countryman a more upright stance. The MINI Cooper S Countryman is also fitted with newly designed 19” lightweight alloys. #RuleNumber1 #RN1 - MINI club members will get this one! Here are a few other things we find cool about the MINI Countryman!
Like the rest of the cars in MINI’s range, the Countryman now sports those nifty Union Jack-themed tail lamps. But unlike the rest of the range, these are more 3-dimensional, and illuminates in reverse fashion.
At the sunset that is. The Countryman actually has a rear bench hidden under the boot board in the trunk. Just ideal for that surprise sunset date, where you tactically park your car facing the East, kick open the boot to deploy the bench, with a picnic basket in-tow.
The Countryman is the first MINI to feature a newly re-styled infotainment touchscreen which is visually more harmonious, with the audio control panel and button for the hazard lights better integrated. MINI Connected offers options for navigating and walking through your music playlist; and you can do this hands-free, with voice control. Download the app onto your mobile, schedule your appointments, and the Countryman will not only reflect your appointments, but also advise on when you should head there… all this, while factoring in real-time traffic conditions.
And now... more than ever... you can get digital - with a new instrument cluster, that features a 5” digital display, offering you an aesthetically-pleasing user experience.
The MINI Countryman is offered for now as the Cooper, with a 1.5 litre turbocharged 136hp 3-cylinder engine and the higher-powered Cooper S, which boasts a 2.0 turbocharged 4-cylinder, good for 178hp. The Cooper Countryman retails for $164,888* and the Cooper S Countryman at $183,888*.
