2022 BMW M3 Touring Shown In The Flesh
If there is ever an image to be shown undisguised for BMW’s upcoming M3 Touring, it has to be the rear end. This vital piece of visual information has been keeping the car enthusiast community very entertained the last 24 hours - no surprise considering that the previous times BMW M manufactured a Touring / wagon variant were for the larger E34 and E61 M5 in 1992 and 2007 respectively.
For the very first time, the M3 will come in a Touring variant - extending the current lineup that includes the M3 sedan, M4 coupe and M4 cabriolet.
It is being rumoured that BMW is preparing for a Q3 launch for the M3 Touring this year, alongside a new M4 CSL and new M2. Makes sense considering that BMW might feel the pressure to whip out a stellar cast to celebrate BMW M GmbH’s 50th Anniversary.
The M3 Touring will be powered by the same turbocharged inline-six motor found in the M-fettled sedan, coupe and cabriolet. We are placing our bets on an xDrive (all-wheel drive) variant to land on our shores come early 2023.
Are practical, high powered internal combustion engines still relevant, or would you rather lean towards the future-proof BMW iX? If you find Touring silhouettes appealing but do not need neck-strapping performance, this pre-owned BMW 3 Series Touring (318d) pictured above might suit you.
