2019 Kia Stonic - Like Woah Stonic Man!

2019 Kia Stonic - Like Woah Stonic Man!

Perhaps the car that will suit the younger you, for your most excellent adventures… The new Kia Stonic is the Korean brand’s latest offering, and (not) incidentally Singapore’s cheapest SUV offering, and a dollar below $70k. That is if you include their $2,000 interest rebate. There are two trims, the EX, which in KIA talk indicates an entry-spec model, and the slightly more expensive SX model with more goodies and larger 17” rims.

Styling-wise, ‘strange things are afoot at the K’... KIA designers have gone way out with striking aesthetics, and allowing buyers a great deal of customisation, something not seen at this price point. Personalisation comes in the form of 29 distinct colourways… 29 dudes! While two-tone colour combo options are available for both its ‘Targa’-style roof and interior.

An entry range KIA SUV… Wouldn't this be the sister car to the Hyundai Kona? Woah indeed! And it is powered by the very same 1.0 turbocharged 3-cylinder engine, good for 120hp and 171Nm of torque. The difference is, for those who prefer not to shift cogs on their own, the Stonic gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The Stonic also offers up generous leg and head room, even for passengers at the rear. Its 352 litre luggage bay offers up some nifty flexibility, with a two-step boot floor, and 60:40 style split-folding rear seats.

Connectivity through AppleCarplay is standard, and a 7” touchscreen infotainment display provides a window to your entertainment. Other goodies like automatic cruise control, reverse camera and keyless entry are just some of the conveniences you can find with this small SUV.

The Stonic also benefits from a 10 year engine warranty, and a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty.

The youthful styling of the Stonic will make you feel younger, and allow you to deal with the oddity of time travel with the greatest ease...
