2015 Porsche Cayenne drops in!

The Porsche Cayenne represents the brand's first foray into a new segment when Porsche wanted to diversify its portfolio. And the objective was simple. To build a mass market SUV that reflected the Porsche DNA. In practice, that proved to be much harder but Stuttgart applied its decades of racing engineering experience into what was at the time unknown territory.  But that formula turned out to be a sales success with 550,000 Cayenne sold since its introduction in 2002. Before the Cayenne, nobody expected an SUV to offer decent driving dynamics but the dynamic SUV has since paved the way for a whole new generation of deftly agile behemoths.

In its latest version, Porsche designers have given the Cayenne an even sharper design with precise lines and purposefully placed light refracting edges. Entirely new are the design of the front body, the front wings and the bonnet. Also new are the airblades: These air fins on the right and left of the vehicle's front end efficiently guide cooling air to the intercoolers and also make a strong visual statement.

At launch, five variants were presented - namely the Cayenne, Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S, Cayenne S E-Hybrid, and the top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo with 520bhp! Not present at launch but expected this year is the incredible Cayenne S Diesel that will feature a whopping 4.2-litre V8 turbodiesel with 385bhp and a continent shifting 850Nm of torque.

Porsche executives say response have been overwhelming with 80% of their first shipment have been spoken for during the launch. Henrik Dreier, General Manager Porsche Singapore adds “We have seen a pretty strong interest prior to the launch and are anticipating good sales results of the new Cayenne.”
