20 New Traffic Cameras

SINGAPORE: The Traffic Police will begin installing 20 digital speed enforcement cameras across 11 locations islandwide from Mar 1. The police said the 20 new cameras will be operational round the clock. The cameras will be painted in bright colours and reflective tapes, and will be placed alongside speed camera zone signs, according to a news release on Thursday (Feb 26).

Six of the sites will be at existing locations, while five are at new areas. The new sites were chosen based on factors such as accident data and public feedback, said the police.

“The cameras are equipped with enhanced features to better identify speeding vehicles, and can simultaneously detect up to 32 vehicles,” said the police.

Traffic Police officers will also use mobile speed laser cameras during operations against dangerous driving, it added.
