Working in the car trade for over twenty years, Lawrence has an intimate knowledge of the auto industry. Being a visionary that he is, it was only natural that Lawrence made the decision to set out on his own. In 2013, Zion Auto Gallery was incorporated.

Behind his calm demeanor, you can tell that he is always as deep as in thought, as much as his phone keeps buzzing. Apologetic about the constant interference during our conversation, he makes it known that he tries to be accessible to his team.

The Parallel Import industry, according to him, is not an easy one to navigate. There are the constant changing policies set by the government, unpredictable COEs, and the evolving customer preferences to deal with. While the authorised dealerships are largely seen as the go-to places to buy a car; Parallel Imported cars are, as Lawrence sees them, an alternative choice for buyers, with PIs often offering an attractive price point, or even models which are not available through Authorised Dealerships.

According to Lawrence, more customers have begun the switch from Japanese brands to Continental marques. The badge prestige and build quality associated with them are natural draws; and it is widely known that buying a prestige brand from a PI can even rival Japanese makes a whole class below, and that is why many customers of his choose to buy a PI car to stretch their dollar.

Beyond the operational runnings of his business, Lawrence also understands the value of marketing, and the importance of customer engagement and satisfaction. In an industry where you are dealing with big ticket items, trust between his business and his customers is something he holds close to himself.

Caring for the customer goes beyond just selling. Apart from the two showrooms he operates at Sin Ming Road. Lawrence has also invested in his very own workshop. This means that the quality of aftersales and car preparation can be kept in-line with his very own high standards.
