Yann envisioned a dealership that was more than just a place to buy a bike—it would be a haven for riders, a sanctuary where the love for motorcycles would be celebrated in every detail.

As a Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini roars towards the entrance of Tan Wei Motorcycles, it's clear that this is no ordinary dealership. Dismounting the striking Italian machine is Yann Tan, the driving, (in the case, riding) force behind Tan Wei Motorcycles, a name synonymous with excellence in Singapore's automotive and biking scene. Founded in 1995 by Yann's father, Tan Wei has grown from its humble beginnings into an institution, thanks in large part to Yann's leadership and vision.

Yann’s passion for motorcycles was evident from a young age. His former teacher, now a mentor and regular at Tan Wei Motorcycles, recalls how Yann first shared his dream of running a motorcycle business. "He was the captain of my volleyball team, always showing strong leadership. I was excited when he told me about his plans."

From the beginning, Yann envisioned a dealership that was more than just a place to buy a bike—it would be a haven for riders, a sanctuary where the love for motorcycles would be celebrated in every detail. Stepping into Tan Wei Motorcycles feels different from entering a typical bike dealership and more like visiting a premium showroom with leather sofas and bikes galore of every make and model. “I always wanted to build a strong riding community,” Yann says, his eyes lighting up. “So as often as we can, on Fridays, we will organise our supper or coffee rides. But it’s not just about bikes; it’s about bringing people together, sharing experiences and love for 2-wheels.”

This sense of community is woven into the very fabric of Tan Wei Motorcycles. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted not by a pushy salesperson, but by a fellow rider who understands your passion. “My team members are all riders themselves, so they get it,” Yann explains. “We’re here to make you feel at home, to talk bikes, and to ensure you leave with more than just a purchase—you leave with an experience.”

At Tan Wei Motorcycles, transparency isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a promise. No hidden fees, no surprises—just honest, straightforward dealings. This commitment to integrity made such an impact on Asriyan, a former customer, that he swapped his riding gear for a Tan Wei Motorcycles uniform. “The team wasn’t just friendly; they were genuine,” Asriyan recalls. “The entire process was clear and straightforward, and when I joined the team, they welcomed me with open arms.”

But what truly sets Tan Wei Motorcycles apart is its vast selection: boasting over 400 bikes, the inventory has a specialty on Class 2 bikes, each having its own story to tell. Among them is the crown jewel, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini—the only one of its kind registered in Singapore. But it’s not just about having the largest inventory; it’s about the meticulous care that goes into every bike. Each one undergoes a pre-sale inspection, and any issues are promptly addressed before the bike even hits the showroom floor. And once it’s yours, the peace of mind continues with follow up and check in from the sales team, because at Tan Wei Motorcycles, the relationship doesn’t end with a sale — it begins.

Beyond Singapore, Yann’s business even takes the experience on the road with organised touring trips to Klang and Desaru in Malaysia. In September, they will host their inaugural TWM Track Day at the Sepang International Circuit. For those who ride with Tan Wei Motorcycles, it’s more than just a riding group—it’s a friendship, shared with the TWMSquad, a community of riders as passionate and diverse as the bikes they love. “What I love about TWMSquad is the diversity,” says Yuri, a proud member. “It’s not just about the bikes; it’s about the camaraderie. No drama, just pure, unfiltered passion.”

As Tan Wei Motorcycles accelerates towards 2025, the future looks brighter than ever. The dealership is gearing up to merge its Tagore and Carros locations into a sprawling 20,000 square foot facility—a true biker’s paradise. This new hub will feature a grooming service, workshop, café, and merchandise store, making it a one-stop destination for all things motorcycles. Yann is also revving up plans to expand their presence in the track scene, ensuring that Tan Wei remains a leader in Singapore’s motorcycle culture.

As the sun sets on another day at Tan Wei Motorcycles, Yann’s advice to the next generation of riders is clear: “Ride safely, savor every moment on the road, and always look out for your fellow riders. The journey is just as important as the destination.”
