China loves the Volkswagen Passat and it has become a staple for many decades as it serves as taxis, family cars, and police vehicles. The Passat has been in production since 1972 and has undergone many facelifts with the eighth-generation sedan and developed variants like the Passat 2.0TSI (DSG). The many refreshing of the Passat has moved it away from its original look, but the engineering platforms still retains over the years.
The Volkswagen Jetta has been in production ever since 1984. Like the Passat, it is extremely popular in China, and you can also spot several of them on Singapore roads. It has recently launched its seventh generation at the 2018 North American International Auto Show, and a first for the Jetta, it now comes with an option for a panoramic sunroof.

The Volkswagen Golf has several names. It is known as the in the United States of America and the in Mexico. It is now on its seventh generation, ever since its first production in 1974. It has sold over 29 million vehicles and garnered lots of fans (haters as well) worldwide. With all its accolades and awards, there is hardly any sign of the end of the Golf’s production anytime soon. The original version of the MK1 is still available for sale, albeit not in Singapore.

The Toyota Corolla is one of the best-selling cars of all time and it has had twelve generations before it has become the vehicle it is today. In Singapore, the Toyota Corolla Altis is seen as a safe and reliable choice for an everyday ride. The new face-lift version has adopted the LED assembly as part of its headlights and has made improvements, introducing an additional 7bhp power increase over the older engine and 6Nm of torque.

The Ford Fiesta has been in production since the 1976 and just last month, it has announced its all-new Fiesta Sports Technology (ST) (7th generation). It has debuted patented technology allowing for ultimate driving dynamics – sharper turn-ins and response to its steering inputs and directional changes.

It is easy to spot the Ford Mustang with its recognisable galloping stallion on its grill. The Mustang’s popularity skyrocketed since it started its production in 1964. The Morgan 4/4 is probably the oldest car that is still in production. This classic British sport car was introduced in 1936, and the current model (2009) sees vast improvements in its engines. The look of the Morgan still remains somewhat similar to that of the first launch and experts have predicted that the new model would continue at least for another 25 years or so.
The Lada is the best-known Russian automotive. It debuted in 1979 as an off-road vehicle with an independent front suspension with coil springs, and a uni-body architecture. In Europe and Russia, the Lada is used as a military vehicle, an ambulance, and by several police forces as well as various utility companies.
Last of the nine, but certainly not the least, Mercedes recently bid goodbye to its 38-year long-producing G class just last year. It is now ready to introduce the all-new second generation, AMG style, that will arrive in showrooms overseas in 2019. The boxy design of the G-Class would probably still remain, along with its round headlights and outer-mount spare tire.

The Peugeot 206 recently celebrated its 20th birthday and the French carmaker took the opportunity to recreate its most iconic advertisement – “The Sculptor”. Although it is technically no longer in production and has been replaced by the 208, it does deserve a special mention as the 206 has been Peugeot’s best-selling car of all time.
