This is where family cars come in handy. No one likes to sit in a cramp car for hours and constantly rub shoulders with their siblings (yes, even with them!). Most are familiar with heading to Malacca, which itself is a great family destination, but have you been to Klebang Beach? Here, enjoy cooling coconut shakes and walk over to the sand dunes for a instagram-worthy picture with your family!
This place is not exactly a tourist attraction that is made intentionally; hence there aren’t any directional signboard. However, after you are close to the beach, look out for a signboard that says Dataran 1 Malaysia. Turn in and drive till the end of the road. Should you have a off-road driving vehicle, you can continue to drive in to save some time on your feet. Otherwise, do park somewhere and walk in otherwise you may get your car stuck in the sandy and muddy road. From there, it is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the sand dunes.
Close to the sand dunes, there’s also the Muzium Submarine Klebang where you can see a real-life submarine! At night, after all that walking and exploring, you can head back to explore Malacca’s Jonker Street for its night life, or head to the Portuguese Settlement for authentic Portuguese food.
Though this is not unfamiliar to many, this is one of the destinations that is not as well-visited as its nearby Genting Highlands. This is a long drive from Singapore, but definitely worth the visit if you are driving to Kuala Lampur.
