The Singapore Motorshow 2008
Even though only three major car brands participated in the Singapore Motorshow 2008, the event has no lack of cars on display, thanks to Subaru and their 25-car strong show of force.
The 2008 Singapore Motorshow may be plagued by last minute pull-outs by exhibitors that resulted with only Honda, Subaru and Nissan as car manufacturers gracing this event. However, tremendous credit has to go to the exhibitors for managing to fill up the exhibition space with cars brimming from one end to the other.
Key highlights of the Motorshow are literally 'firsts', with Honda unveiling the latest Honda City and facelifted Civic. Subaru will also be matching the theme of 'firsts' with their latest 7-seater Exiga MPV, together with a Singapore assembled Impreza STI circuit car. Nissan will be unveilding the latest Murano, the first in Asia, together with the Nissan GTR R35.
The Motorshow also offers another 'first' - the amazing Rinspeed sQuba zero emission amphibious car is here at the Singapore Motorshow, making its first appearance on Asian soil.
And for the first time in Singapore, Russ Swift, the international renowned display driver, is teaming up with his son, Paul Swift, to bring you a series of performances that will guarantee to leave you awestruck with their dazzling, high-speed car stunts.
To complement the car display, the organizers brought in many exhibitors dealing with car accessories such as I.C.E, window tinting films and paint protection solutions for your car. Big names like Stamford Tyres, Sony XPLOD, V-Kool and Autoglym will be present during the motorshow.

The company showcases several of their Isuzu goods van and passenger buses. Do take a closer look at them especially if you are interested to know more about their green environmental friendly buses. Besides Isuzu, Triangle Auto also showcase their popular Opel Combo and Vivaro goods vans.
For this year's motorshow, Honda will be unveiling their latest Honda City for public viewing, together with the rest of the Honda family which also feature the facelifted Honda Civic.
Committed to giving drivers the ultimate driving experience, Subaru has put on display the new Subaru Exiga and Subaru Impreza Sedan, together with the complete range of Subaru's lineup that includes the Impreza Hatchback and the new Forrester. A locally developed Subaru Impreza WRX STI circuit car by the MI Motorspot division is also on display.
Nissan unveiled the facelifted Murano and the eagerly awaited Nissan GTR R35 (from Tan Chong Motors). Nissan also showcase their latest Cefiro replacement, the Teana, which comes in 2.0l, 2.5l and the flagship 3.5l v6 variant. Nissan also took this opportunity to showcase some of their innovative technologies such as adaptive headlights and self-healing paint.
Importer of Fiat and Mitsubishi FUSO commercial vehicles, they have a display area large enough to display their Fiat Doblo and Scudo commercial vehicles together with Mitsubishi's range of heavy vehicles such as the Canter and FV series of trucks.
The world's first real underwater car makes Asian debut at the Singapore Motorshow. Inspired by the classic James Bond action thriller movie, "The Spy Who Loved Me", Frank M. Rinderknecht created this astonishing automobile amphibian. The sQuba is powered by rechargeable Li-Ion batteries and can go up to speeds of 120km/h on land.
The car mega store has proudly displayed their finest selections of rims and tyres together with a WRX STI that was done up by Stamford Tyres. Do not miss out their booth for their latest promotions!
Sony XPLOD has possibly one of the most stylishly designed booth for the entire motorshow. The booth is colored in a black-red scheme that compliments the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X that was used as their display car.
The Singapore Motorshow has also thoughtfully included motoring exhibits of the two wheeler kinds - motor or no motor included! Honda , Sachs and Yamaha bikes are on display, together with their non-motorised counterparts from Rodalink and Japy Pte Ltd that showcases bicycle brands such as Shimano and Polygon.
