Lamborghini Singapore brings us the very last iteration of their V12 supercar, the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae. The iconic sports car will be the final model with a V12 that Lamborghini will produce, with a limited run of 350 coupes and 250 roadsters.
With their last hurrah, Lamborghini has combined the best of Aventador SVJ performance, together with the driving dynamics of the Aventador S. The 6.5 litre V12 now produces 780CV and 720Nm, 40CV more than the Aventador S and 10CV more than the limited run SVJ. The engine’s performance is further optimised with variable valve timing and a variable intake system, for an optimised torque curve. Gear shifts are taken care of via Lamborghini’s lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed shifting system, which swaps cogs within 50 milliseconds.
Boasting only a 1,550kg dry weight, with the coupe weighing 25kg less than the Aventador S, the Ultimae delivers the same power-to-weight ratio as the SVJ, allowing it to accelerate to 100km/h in in a blisteringly short 2.8 seconds, and reach a maximum speed of 355km/h.
Included in the Ultimae, is a permanent AWD system which is logically rear-biased for better off-the-line performance. The system is managed by Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva (LDVA), delivering enhanced driving dynamics. Stopping power, managed by its CCB braking system, brings the car from 100km/h to a halt in just 30m.
Four-wheel steering tech, first introduced on the Aventador S, also finds its way into the Ultimae for improved agility and enhanced stability at higher speeds, with the rear axle relying on separate actuators that respond in five milliseconds to the driver’s steering inputs.
To cope with higher speeds, the :P 780-4 features a front splitter and an open ‘mouth’, designed to direct airflow for optimum aerodynamic efficiency, engine and radiator cooling. The rear wing also moves into three positions - ‘closed’, ‘maximum performance’ and ‘maximum handling’. This is dependent on the speed of the car and the drive mode selected.
The LP 780-4 Ultimae can be differentiated by its complex-yet-elegant lines and surfaces. The coupe was launched in a two-tone, grey-on-grey colour scheme, and ‘teeth’ on the front, picked out in matt red Rosso Mimir. The Roadster, which is launched in Blu Taweret and Blu Nethuns, also gets a high gloss black carbon fiber roof. Silver Dianthus 20” and 21” staggered forged alloys are standard on the Ultimae, and customers can also opt for Dianthus, Leiron and Nireo in bronze, black and titanium for their wheels. Lamborghini is offering 18 standard colours, with as many as 300 customisable body colours available through the brand’s Ad Personam programme. Buyers can expect an estimated price (sans COE) of SGD$2-million for the coupe and SGD$2.15 million for the roadster.
But if you are interested in purchasing one, you might just be a little too late, since according to Lamborghini, Singapore’s allocation of cars have already been sold out.
