September 19 was a special day for Ital Auto, as 300 guests gathered at Como Dempsey for the Passione Rossa cocktail party. Just 10 years ago, Ital Auto became the exclusive Ferrari dealership in Singapore. A carpark filled with cars displaying the prancing horse insignia, is proof of the passion Ferrari owners have for the brand, and a testament of faith to the dealership..
As he reflected on the decade, which saw the blossoming dealership recognised by Ferrari as the Dealer of the Year in 2018 for the South-east Asia and Korea region, Mr Teo Hock Seng, Executive Chairman of Ital Auto and Komoco Holdings, said: “It was a challenging task to take up the mantle as the exclusive Ferrari dealer in Singapore as there are exceptional standards to live up to but it was a test we readily accepted.
“Ferrari cars are pedigree machines that are the stuff of dreams and Ital Auto has the people with the passion and drive to do the Prancing Horse badge proud. The dealership’s strong performance is testament to Ital’s relentless commitment to uphold the brand’s iconic image.”
Mr Dieter Knechtel, CEO of Ferrari Far East and Middle East Hub, added: “After its inception in 2009, Ital Auto has quickly established itself as one of Ferrari’s best-performing dealers.
“They can be counted on to deliver the highest standards and best practices when it comes to sales, marketing and aftersales. And they had truly come of age when they were awarded the Dealer of the Year from the South-east Asia and Korea region for 2018, proving that a small market can produce mighty results.”
The party was graced by none other than 21 year-old sensation Charles Leclerc. Leclerc had only recently hopped over from the development Sauber team, also powered by Ferrari engines; and would go on to take second place during the Singapore GP under Scuderia Ferrari.
Capping off the night, Ferrari owners were the first here to witness the launch of the new Ferrari SF90 Stradale, driven in by Jeremy Gaw, General manager for Ital Auto.
The SF90 Stradale is powered by a turbocharged V8 engine, good for 780 hp. Their first series-production PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) is assisted by three electric motors producing 220 hp for a combined total of 1,000 hp. Gear changes are taken care of by a quick-shifting 8-speed dual-clutch automatic, helping to launch the car to 100km/h in only 2.5 seconds and 200 kmh in 6.7 seconds.
Enzo Ferrari once famously said that you have to imagine the car first… This principle remains true for the SF90 Stradale as the designers and engineers dared to imagine…
