If vegetating at a single spot isn't your kind of holiday, then you can stop by Malacca on the way down. As we all know it's a food haven here: from the passable chicken rice balls to the street food on Jonker Street.

Every weekend, Jonker Street turns into a carnival -- not unlike Chinatown before the Chinese New Year in Singapore. You can satisfy all your food cravings here. Char kway teow, otak, sate celup, candies, desserts, you name it, you’ll find it.

Driving enthusiasts should also not miss the chance for cheap go-karting in Malacca. The track is just before the highway and is breeze to find. Apart from corporate events or races, the track is practically empty, especially on the weekdays.

Once you'd had your full of thrills and spills here, it's time to head back down South to Singapore.
