Opening of the new Mclaren showroom
Mclaren Automotive started operations officially last week in conjuction with the official opening of its new showroom at 45 Leng Kee Road.
In yet another defining moment for McLaren Automotive and Wearnes Automotive, the much anticipated completion of McLaren Singapore adds a key chapter to the glorious story of McLaren. With combined showroom and service facilities, McLaren Singapore embodies one of the largest McLaren dealerships in the world. It currently stands as the biggest facility in the In
Asia Pacific region.
As meticulous as McLaren is in its operations, the showroom represents the attention to details that Wearnes strives for as its partner. The gun-metal borders of the façade reflects the carbon fibre expertise of McLaren while the idea behind its interior was to create a space similar to an F1 Paddock Club where sports car enthusiasts would want to gather.
From the entrance, visitors to McLaren Singapore enjoy an unobstructed view of the groundbreaking MP4-12C on display on the well-lit turntable at the far end of the showroom. Taking position proudly in the centre is the famous MP4/24 that Lewis Hamilton victoriously steered across the finishing line at the 2009 Singapore Grand Prix. The carbon fibre rolling chassis of the MP4-12C sits alongside to showcase the distillation of the technology that is Pure McLaren. Customers may also be invited into the workshop, which is seamlessly integrated with the showroom, for a personalised introduction of the technology inside their
very own bespoke MP4-12C.
On display in the showroom are ranges of special and exclusive McLaren and Team McLaren merchandise which includes accessories developed from the creative collaborations with HUGO Boss and TAG Heuer. Featured in the window display plinth is
one of the 1,000 units of the limited edition MP4-12C chronograph that celebrates more than a quarter of a century partnership by TAG Heuer and McLaren. Reflecting the MP4-12C’s characteristics through its unique colours and design, the timepiece only retails exclusively through McLaren and its network of dealers around the world.
Gracing the opening ceremony of the launch are special guests from McLaren Automotive: Mr Ron Dennis Executive Chairman for McLaren Automotive and McLaren Group, Mr Greg Levine Sales and Marketing Director, Mr Ian Gorsuch Regional Director, Asia Pacific.
Mr Ron Dennis said at the launch of McLaren Automotive itself, “Launching a new car company is a great challenge that is inspiring everyone at McLaren. The new 12C is now on sale worldwide and these are exciting times – for McLaren, for car enthusiasts and, just as importantly, for people who are passionate about technology, innovation and engineering.”
With the above sentiments in mind, Mr Andre Roy, Group Managing Director of Wearnes Automotive elaborates, “This is just the first phase for us. This is just the beginning. As we start to deliver the MP4-12C to our customers from next month onwards, we will work on developing and delivering a superior ownership experience for our customers.”
Mr Roy adds, “Driven by the passion to provide luxury mobility, we aspire to deliver to our customers the most sophisticated products; world-class infrastructure as well as an unparalleled level of customer service. The opening of the McLaren Showroom is another important milestone for Wearnes Automotive to become the leading luxury retailer in Southeast Asia. Combining Wearnes’ 106 years of experience in luxury car distribution, with McLaren’s undisputed leadership in automotive technology, we can set a new benchmark for sports car ownership in Singapore.”
