New Tech, New Engine, Same Emotions: The 2025 Lamborghini Temerario

After 10 years of watching the Huracan roar down the streets and tracks, Lamborghini has finally bid farewell to its beloved baby bull.

Enter the new 2025 Lamborghini Temerario. As per tradition, it’s named after a particularly fierce fighting bull from 1875; the Temerario carries that same untamed spirit under its hood.

The Temerario packs an all-new 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine that’s ready to scream all the way to 10,000 RPM. Lamborghini didn’t stop there, as the new Temerario also has three electric motors—two up front and one attached to the crankshaft—for a total of 920 CV (that's around 907 horsepower for those who don’t speak Italian horsepower lingo).

That’s about 40% more power than the Huracan STO, making this bull the equivalent of a heavyweight champion on an energy drink.

"We couldn't provide more performance with just a naturally aspirated engine, because the aspirated engine would need to be really big in terms of capacity," explains Mr. Paolo Racchetti, Director of the Huracan Product Line. "So that's why we opted for a V8 turbo. But we decided to do a V8 turbo in a completely different way."

The real magic is in how they’ve engineered this hybrid powertrain. The front axial flux motors kick in at low revs, basically eliminating turbo lag. Mr. Racchetti went on to say, "From 4,000 to 10,000 RPM, this engine has a sound all its own. It doesn’t sound like a turbo engine at all. It really has a high tone and provides a lot of emotion."

And for those of you who like numbers, the Temerario revs all the way to 10,000 RPM, with a sound and vibration that’ll make the hairs on your neck stand up. "The vibration of the engine, because of the flat-plane crankshaft, produces this particular sound that makes the driving experience more engaging than ever before."

Lamborghini’s design is half the reason you want one. And the Temerario doesn’t disappoint. There’s a bit of Diablo DNA in those rear arches, especially with the fully exposed rear tires. As we learned from last year’s Lanzador concept unveil, Lamborghini Head of Design, Mitja Borkert, clearly loves superbikes, and it shows in this car’s aggressive stance. But make no mistake—every line on the Temerario has been sculpted for aerodynamic efficiency and downforce.

And for those who want their bull on a diet, Lamborghini is offering a new “Alleggerita” package, which shaves off 25 kg with carbon fibre wheels and a few extra aero bits that we think give the Temerario that signature Lamborghini aggression.

Climbing into the Temerario is like stepping into a cockpit. Lamborghini took a lot of cues from the Revuelto, giving the interior a serious upgrade. You’ve got new seats that adjust in 18 different ways—more than enough to make even the pickiest driver comfortable. These seats aren’t just about posture, though—they come with built-in heating and ventilation.

The new Human-Machine Interface (HMI) infotainment system is like a personal control centre, with three displays, including one for the passenger, that let you customise everything from navigation to vehicle dynamics.

One of the other highlights of the new Temerario is that it doesn’t just have one personality—it has 13, thanks to its highly customizable driving modes.

From the comfortable cruiser that is “Strada” mode to the track weapon that is “Corsa,” this car can be whatever you need it to be. And for those moments when you feel like channelling your inner Ken Block, Lamborghini’s new “Drift” mode has got you covered. It’s got three levels of drift assistance, so whether you’re a beginner or a pro, you can slide this bull sideways with ease.

When we asked Racchetti how he sees the Temerario in 10 years, he confidently said, “This car will define Lamborghini. It’s the future of sportiness, with puristic design and performance that will be talked about for years to come."

If the Huracan sold 29,000 units, the Temerario is sure to surpass that, and we’re excited to see it claim its place in Lamborghini’s hall of fame. But enough talking—we’re dying to get behind the wheel and explore that 10,000 RPM redline ourselves.

Until then, we’ll be spending an unhealthy amount of time on Lamborghini’s configurator, dreaming up our perfect Temerario. We suggest you do the same.
