Electrified performance isn’t for the faint of heart - this trio in black ain’t messing around.

Approach electrification with an open mindset, and most often we’ll be taken aback by how groundbreaking it is even when pitched against top-tier internal combustion tech. Even if you’re not fully invested in the EV game yet, the manner in which some of them take flight right from the get go is nothing short of astounding. Frightening, even. Sub-4 seconds supercars with burly turbo V8s used to supply heart-in-mouth moments. We’re now living in a parallel universe where electric motors rule the world. Don't get us started on Xiaomi...

Sure, top-end specs state that you can ferry passengers in the blink of an eye. But are we buying them? A quick search on Carousell’s used car classifieds indicate that we’re either fond of mid-tier variants (that mostly favour a blend of range and performance), or we’re still keeping hold of the quickest accelerating flagships. Here are some of the fastest pre-loved EVs in Singapore for those who feel that speed is part of the charm.

2023 BYD Seal Premium

Depreciation: S$21,500 per year

Yes, it’s not the 3.8 seconds BYD Seal Performance, because there ain’t any in the used car classifieds at time of writing. But the mid-tier Seal Premium is no slouch, with a 313hp, 360Nm output driving only the rear wheels. 0 - 100km/h arrives in 5.9 seconds, which is highly commendable.

And it’s still a mighty performance leap over the Dynamic, Cat A-friendly variant. This sweet spot with 570km claimed range can definitely perform in the city - you might not even get a chance to unleash all that instant punch!

2022 Porsche Taycan

Depreciation: S$40,400 per year

It’s ironic to shortlist a “base” Taycan in our fastest used EVs feature. But the reality is that even the well heeled could find the price difference too prohibitive. This Taycan produces 410Nm of torque, a far cry from the Taycan Turbo GT’s 1,240Nm with launch control. But the latter’s a million dollar machine.

It’s the only Taycan on Carousell’s used car classifieds, and in this jet black hue it does look rather menacing. 4.8 seconds to 100km/h brings you to places, for sure.

2022 Tesla Model Y Performance

Depreciation: S$18,600 per year

You can now order the newest RWD or long range Model Y and receive them this month, or dial it up a notch and opt for a used 500hp (at least!) predecessor. A supercar-slaying sprint time of 3.7 seconds for a family-centric hauler is not trailblazing in 2025, but it just goes to show how far EVs have come even without browsing the back catalogue.

Tesla’s quick charging, sleek looks (and not forgetting its ever present, always vocal leader) are what enamoured many to the brand. Here’s all the Performance you’ll ever need.
