Formula 1 is the epitome of modern engineering. Highly skilled engineers and craftsmen team up to design and manufacture these ultra quick racing machines with the most exotic of materials. There is a constant demand for young and capable designers to work alongside the established big names. The only way to scoop up loads of young talents quickly is through a talent search programme, which is why Infiniti Red Bull Racing has set up the Infiniti Performance Engineering Academy in NUS. Singapore is the first country to launch the programme, with many others set to follow suit.

Webber was on hand to formally launch the programme. Recruitment will begin later this year, with the top of every nation competing with one another for the ultimate prize- a 12 month paid internship with the Tripe World Championship-winning Formula One team. But before that, the finalists have to present their ideas to a panel of experts, and they will release the result at next year’s British Grand Prix in June. Placements for the 2 winners will begin in September next year. This once-in-a-lifetime scholarship includes accommodation, a salary and the use of a car.
