Last Of Its Kind V8 SVR-Badged Jaguar F-Pace Launched In Singapore

Singapore - Jaguar’s performance wing, Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) refreshes their F-PACE SVR SUV, with its launch that happened on 16 September 2021. With electrification looming on the horizon, we can be quite sure that this would be the last time we can have ownership of that sonorous cross-plane burble associated with its V8 engine.

The refreshed SVR-badged Jaguar SUV rumbles into sunny Singapore, sporting tweaks to its five-litre supercharged engine. And while retaining its 550ps of output, it now has its peak torque increased to 700Nm, 20Nm more than the pre-facelift version. Jaguar SVO has upped their A-game, not only with the increase in engine performance numbers, but they have also fed into the car their new ‘Dynamic Launch’ function, shaving 0.3 seconds off its century sprint time, with the new car clocking four seconds flat. Interestingly, even with the added performance, Jaguar claims that their V8 SUV is more fuel efficient and produces less emissions. The blokes at Solihull have also fitted in the very same torque converter, first used in the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 sedan, allowing the transmission to take on heavier loads.

There are also a few design differences to the exterior, purpose-designed to reduce lift by 35%, and to lower drag. The reworking of the F-PACE SVR sees a revised bumper design which features X-shape and blade-like elements intersecting the lower side air vents and intakes. If you like an even firmer ride, and a greater risk of grinding the kerb, the F-PACE SVR is also offered with 22” forged alloy wheels.

Paul Barritt, F-PACE SVR Chief Programme Engineer, Jaguar SV, said: “As a team, we’re incredibly proud of the F-PACE SVR, so trying to improve on the original was always going to be a difficult task. The move to Jaguar’s new Electrical Vehicle Architecture gave us the opportunity to revisit the calibration of every single component, so we took the chance to fine-tune the driving experience to make it feel even more focused and even more refined. Those thousands of detail changes take the F-PACE SVR to the next level.”

Jaguar has also not forgotten about the interior, where there has been an extensive redesign, especially along the centre console; and now features a Pivi Pro 11.4” curved-glass HD touchscreen that sits within a magnesium alloy, which takes centrestage. Its 12.3” HD Interactive Driver Display comes wrapped in Alcantara with ebony stitching, and you can also opt for open-pore carbon fibre treatment. The F-PACE SVR’s air-conditioning now also features PM2.5 filtration, which captures ultra-fine particles to improve air quality for its occupants.

The new F-PACE SVR also benefits from a selection of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. This includes Clear Exit Monitor, which alerts both front and rear occupants to the presence of an approaching car or cyclist when exiting the vehicle. Adaptive Cruise Control automatically maintains a set distance from the vehicle in front.

Jaguar’s latest 3D Surround Camera technology delivers advanced 3D functionality using the latest camera technology to deliver more detail and a choice of real-time viewing when manoeuvring the vehicle. The selection of settings include Junction View, 3D Perspective View, and ClearSight Plan View.

The new Jaguar F-PACE SVR is available now, and starts from SGD$435,999.
