Hyundai Shows Off It's Biggest and Smallest new SUVs

Singapore, 18 June 2019 - In conjunction with a global event, Hyundai offered a preview of 2 additions to their SUV lineup launched earlier this year - both polar opposites in terms of size. Its smallest, the all-new 2020 Venue, will be Hyundai’s most affordable SUV, while still offering an abundance of standard safety, technology and connectivity features. The largest, it’s flagship 2020 Palisade, a recent winner of the prestigious Red Dot Award for design excellence, offers exceptional comfort and interior space for eight passengers.

As the latest sub-compact crossover of Hyundai's growing SUV lineup, the Venue features a bold, modern design to set it apart from the rest. To help it thrive in busy urban environments, the Venue offers a suite of advanced safety technologies, such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system.

Powering the Venue is the Smartstream Gamma 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, mated to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) automatic. The internally developed proprietary IVT promises enhanced shift response and improved fuel efficiency, which will be a key consideration for many of its potential customers.

On the other end of the size (and price) spectrum, the premium Palisade exudes a masculine, monumental air with its massive chrome mesh grille, buttressed on both sides by vertically-displayed LED headlamps. Inside, the capacious and high quality interior creates a pleasant environment for eight passengers - perfect for family trips. The one-touch second row access quickly ducks the second row seats out of the way for access to the third row, where USB charging ports and reclining seats can be found.

The Palisade undoubtedly features all of the state-of-the-art safety technologies in Hyundai’s repertoire, along with a digital instrument cluster and a sprawling infotainment screen, befitting a flagship SUV.

Also making a special appearance is the Kona Iron Man Edition, previously debuted at the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con, as part of the ongoing collaboration between Marvel and Hyundai. As the name suggests, the limited run Kona proudly displays eye-catching exterior and interior design elements that pay homage to the Iron Man suit.

With these new launches, Hyundai is certainly sending a strong message for contention in the ever-growing SUV market. The word is that both the Venue and the Palisade will be coming to local shores at some point, although there is yet to be any confirmed timeline.
