SEAT has announced the launch of their new CUPRA brand. Taking a further step away from the parent SEAT brand, CUPRA will place greater emphasis on performance, lifestyle and racing.
SEAT has announced the launch of their new CUPRA brand. Taking a further step away from the parent SEAT brand, CUPRA will place greater emphasis on performance, lifestyle and racing.
The SEAT Sport brand name will also make way for CUPRA, as they take over the entire motorsport and racing division.
The first car in its lineup to wear the CUPRA badge as a brand is their Ateca SUV. Featuring a more boldly designed kit, and delivering much higher performance that SEAT’s own Ateca, the CUPRA Ateca produces an astonishing 300hp, and married to a 7-speed DSG transmission, the Ateca SUV hits the century sprint mark in just 5.4 seconds!
The brand also offered a peek at design exercises with their own take of the CUPRA Ibiza compact hatch and CUPRA Arona compact SUV.
As we did mention racing earlier on, CUPRA’s TCR will be their first racing car, which will be fielded in the next TCR series for 2018.
